the department following his experience of running mail order operations at two other record shops. with the breadth of stock available from the two shops the department quickly built up a reputation, and mark barry has proved adept at unearthing collections from the strangest of sources.

perhaps the biggest coup for the department was purchasing the collection of long-time bbc producer john walters or was it finding the £6,000 unreleased rolling stones album 'necrophilia'? or the £1,500 early brian wilson 7"? or the first manic street preachers single complete with three hand-written letters by richy? whichever, the department has continued to unearth gems since its move in early 1999 to the basement of 26 berwick street and has recently offered such treats as the pre-kraftwerk organisation lp, the £600 koobas album, and an acetate of the moody blues studio audition. along with our other store in berwick st, all stock is available on this website - happy hunting!

the soul & dance shop at number 30 is the flagship shop for reckless. it is by far the busiest and best known, and has been established since 1984.

when our second shop on berwick street opened in 1998, the soul & dance shop was able to forge ahead and build upon its formidable reputation as one of the best dance music shops in london. the branch always carries a wide range of product, and often has the latest promos way in advance of release. however you have to be quick to snap them up, as our most dedicated customers pop in every day to check through the new arrivals. along with our other stores, all stock is available on this website - happy hunting!

this reckless shop, at 26 berwick street, opened on the 10th october 1998. the existing berwick street branch had long grown too small for the amount of stock and customers it was expected to hold. when a property became available along the street, it seemed foolish not to expand. just two doors down from its sister shop, this branch caters for buyers and sellers of rock, pop, jazz, reggae, folk, experimental and classical music, and now also stocks dvds. along with our other store in berwick st, all stock is available on this website - happy hunting!
